He went silently and without taking anything; leaving through a balcony door. Neither the woman or her female roommate were hurt.
He is described as a white man, with a tall build and dark hair. The room was so dark it was difficult for the victim to determine the suspect’s age, said Sgt. Greg Robertson of the Halifax Regional Police.
Police used the K-9 unit in their search of the area. Officers checked for footprints in the snow and stopped passersby to examine their shoes.
Meanwhile, police received a call about a man rushing into the Saint Mary’s University Loyola Building. He matched the suspect’s description, but police later determined he was not involved in the break in.
Officers are conducting witness interviews to gather more information about the suspect.
