Ongoing flooding across Saskatchewan is not only causing problems for homeowners, it’s also affecting travel across provincial highways.

The latest highway to be closed in the province is a major route. The westbound lanes of Highway 1 3 km west of Wolseley are now closed because of water over the highway. Traffic has a long detour to make – up Highway 47 to Melville and then across Highway 10.

Water is also over the highway in the vicinity of Broadview and RCMP are saying the eastbound lanes just east of Grenfell are completely submerged with flowing water.

Closer to Saskatoon, the Wakaw Lake access road is closed and there is water is over Highway 2 just north of the junction of Highway 5 and on Highway 14 about 25 km west of Saskatoon.

There are also a number of highways closed across the province due to flooding:

  • Highway 350 9 km north of the U.S. border
  • Highway 363 from Shamrock to Hodgeville
  • Highway 31 from Herschel Access to Grid 656
  • Highway 123 5 km north of EB Campbell Dam
  • Hagen access
  • Highway 25 west side from Jct #2 to Jct #3
  • Caution is urged on any highways covered with water and most locations have flagpersons to help direct traffic.
