The second largest planet in our solar system will be visible to the naked eye starting on Monday evening.

Star gazers will be able to see Saturn from now until May, but the planet will appear the brightest tonight when it is in opposition.

A planet can be said to be “in opposition” when the Sun and the planet appear to be on opposite sides of the sky, as viewed from Earth.

The planet will appear as a bright yellow, disc in the sky. Saturn’s rings will be visible with the aid of a telescope or binoculars.

Saturn is in opposition every 378 days.
