CALGARY – A Calgary man who just learned he’s $1 million richer says he’ll be spending some of his new found wealth to buy his parents a home.

Dean Banman is the city’s latest Lotto Max winner. He won $1 million from the January 17 draw.

“I called my dad right away,” says Dean. “I told him to start looking for a house.”

He discovered his win a few days after the Friday draw, when he scanned his ticket at a lottery retailer’s self-service Ticket Checker.

In addition to buying a home for his parents, Dean said he plans to put some of his windfall toward a home and new vehicle for himself.
