Victoria’s Chelsea Middleton can now add a new title to her name: she is officially a Skittles Millionaire.
Middleton is a million Skittles rich after winning a national contest.
The company that makes skittles – Wrigley Canada – ran the contest that required people to get as many people to sign up and watch a YouTube video.
Chelsea’s boyfriend is an online marketing specialist. With his help, she more than doubled her closest competitor.
She says she also knows some pretty influential people on the Internet.
“They had a lot of pull, so it is thanks to them that we have made it this far,” says Middleton.
She has now claimed her winnings: 2510 pounds of Skittles worth $8,000.
Problem is – the couple lives in a trailer park on Vancouver Island and finding space to store her prize is proving tricky.
So Chelsea plans to throw a Skittles party to give it all away.
“Mostly we really want people to take candy at this party,” says Middleton. “We are doing this not only because we want to give it away, we need to give it away, because we can’t have it in our house for that long.”
The party is scheduled for February 1 in Victoria.
