HALIFAX – Atlantic Canada is facing a messy mix of weather today – freezing rain, heavy rain and a hefty dumping of snow.
Freezing rain in south-central New Brunswick is closing schools and prompting a warning to drivers from police.
Classes are cancelled in places including Fredericton, Oromocto, Moncton and Kent County.
Meanwhile, a heavy rainfall warning is in effect across much of Nova Scotia with a forecast of 25 to 35 millimetres.
School bus companies in parts of Nova Scotia say poor road conditions may keep some vehicles off some of their routes.
Meanwhile, snowfall warnings are in place for parts of Newfoundland, with the highest amounts of up to 25 centimetres expected over western and northern areas.
