Sixteen homes in a Penticton neighbourhood were evacuated after a wildfire erupted on Tuesday afternoon.
The BC Wildfire Service deployed two helicopters to the West Bench area to assist the local fire department in fighting the flames.

The fire was sized at around two hectares at 5 p.m., and was said to be under control.
The city’s fire chief said the fire destroyed two sheds and was threatening five homes before being brought under control.
Both local firefighters and the BC Wildfire Service remain on the scene, saying they will remain until the threat is gone.
