EFRS was called at 2:42 p.m. to an area near 159 Avenue and just east of Fort Road/Manning Drive.

It was upgraded to a second alarm at 3:04 p.m. and upgraded again to a third alarm at 3:29 p.m.

Heavy black smoke was seen coming from what appeared to be several RV/camper-style vehicles and a flat-bed truck near a driving range and storage area.

The winds caused the flames to spread very quickly, fire officials said.

“It actually spread to the southeast because of the wind,” said district chief Robert Murray. “We lost a few RVs but we stopped it and there were a lot of RVs saved as well.”

Another issue was water access. A property owner reportedly gave crews access to their water in order for firefighters to run hose and fight the blaze.
