TRURO, N.S. – RCMP in Nova Scotia have laid additional charges in three deaths, including one of a former biker gang member.
Police say Curtis Lynds of North River, N.S., is charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of Nancy Christensen and Barry Kirk Mersereau, who were found dead in their home in Centre Burlington, N.S., on Sept. 10, 2000.
The 34-year-old Lynds is also charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder in the slaying of Randy Mersereau, a former Hells Angel who went missing in October 1999.
Investigators say human remains found earlier this month on a rural property near Truro are those of Randy Mersereau.
The remains were found Dec. 5 after a four-day search of a property on Hiram Lynds Road.
The Mounties say the remains were identified through forensic identification, but they aren’t releasing the cause of death because of an ongoing investigation.
Police say Lynds was arrested without incident at a federal government office in Truro on Friday.
On Friday, police also charged Les Greenwood, 48, with first-degree murder in the deaths of Barry Mersereau and Christensen and with accessory after the fact to murder in Randy Mersereau’s death.
Gerald MacCabe, 43, of Salmon River, N.S., was earlier charged with being an accessory after the fact in the death of Randy Mersereau.
