1 airlifted after SUV, delivery truck collide on County Road 507 in Trent Lakes: OPP

County Road 507 in the Municipality of Trent Lakes was closed much of Tuesday following a late morning head-on collision. The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. involving a SUV and a delivery truck. The condition of the occupants is not yet known – Apr 2, 2024

One person was airlifted to hospital following a head-on collision on County Road 507 in the Municipality of Trent Lakes, Ont., late Tuesday morning.

Peterborough County OPP say the collision around 11:55 a.m. involved a northbound courier (Purolator truck) and a southbound SUV. The collision occurred near Ossie Traynor Way, north of the village of Buckhorn.

OPP say a 24-year-old man driving the SUV was subsequently airlifted by an Ornge air ambulance to a Toronto-area trauma centre with undetermined injuries.

The condition of the delivery truck driver was not released.

Both lanes of County Road 507 were closed between County Road 36 and Mississauga Dam Road but police were expected to reopen around 4:20 p.m.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.

OPP say anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has video or dash-cam footage is asked to call the Peterborough County detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
