The Regina Police Service (RPS) and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service concluded the death investigation of a woman found in the area of 15th Avenue and Wallace Street on Sunday afternoon.
It has been determined the death is not a criminal case.
“The investigation, including an autopsy authorized by the Coroner, has concluded that the death is non-criminal in nature,” police stated. “The name of the deceased person will not be released by the Regina Police Service.”
On Sunday, police were dispatched to the area of 15th Avenue and Wallace Street at 2:47 p.m.
“Officers arrived, and located the body of an adult female, who was confirmed deceased,” the RPS stated in a release.
“The officers secured the scene and requested a Coroner as well as additional police resources.”
Although the death was deemed non-criminal, a resident in the Al Ritchie neighbourhood who has lived in the area for over 20 years says incidents like this never happen where he lives.
“It’s kind of unnerving because it happened so close to home,” Greg Spruit said. “It makes you kind of uneasy.”
