Singer Rita Ora joins cast of ‘Fifty Shades’ movie

TORONTO — British singer Rita Ora has signed on to play Christian Grey’s adopted sister Mia in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie.

The big screen adaptation of the bestselling novels is currently in production in Vancouver with Jamie Dornan as Grey and Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele.

The cast also includes Max Martini, Luke Grimes, Eloise Mumford, Jennifer Ehle and Victor Rasuk.

Although best known for her music, Ora has some experience in front of cameras. In addition to guest roles on British TV, she appeared in an episode of 90210 and in the movie Fast & Furious 6.

The 23-year-old’s debut album, Ora, spawned several hit singles including “How We Do (Party)” and “R.I.P.” Her vocals appear on the DJ Fresh track “Hot Right Here.”

Filming of Fifty Shades is scheduled to take place in Vancouver until the end of January. The movie is set to be released in February 2015.
