The Saskatchewan RCMP has cancelled a dangerous person alert that was issued by Waskesiu/Montreal Lake RCMP after reports of two male suspects who are believed to be armed with a firearm on Montreal Lake Cree Nation.
The Saskatchewan RCMP stated in a release that there is no current immediate risk to public safety, but if this changes, police will update the public immediately.
“At this time, one individual has been taken into custody,” police stated. “29-year-old Justice Bird from has not been located. He is described as being 5’9” and weighing approximately 166 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes and has several facial tattoos. Last known to be wearing a white ball cap and black and white clothes. The public should remain vigilant.”
Police will remain at the scene and the public can expect to notice an increased police presence in the First Nations community.
“The investigation remains ongoing. One injured person has been reported to police,” the release read. “They were transported to hospital. We do not have an update on their condition.”
