The Rose Gellert Quartet will open their 2023-24 season with contrasts in posterity and mortality. Smetana’s String Quartet No. 1 in e minor (From my Life) is autobiographical. Mozart’s String Quartet No. 19 in C Major, K. 465 (Dissonance) is dedicated to Haydn, posterity within and without. The biographical impulse comes from wanting to leave something for posterity, either about self or someone we care about. This programme explores that concept. The concert will be performed in the intimate setting of the Rose Gellert Hall.
