Sahabhāva is a Sanskrit word for coexistence, community, and coming together. Originally a virtual festival which was one of the first Indian classical music and dance events to occur globally during COVID-19, ICMSV continues the concept live with the same intention – to support artists in our community and experience a breadth of artistic disciplines. This year’s spring edition of Sahabhāva features an exciting roster of talented artists in an acoustic setting – Pallavi Bharadwaj (Bharatanatyam), Deepak Kulkarni (Hindustani Bansuri), Rohan Upamaka (Hindustani Vocals), & Sunny Matharu (Tabla Solo). Accompanying artists include Hriday Buddhdev (Tabla) and Mohan Bhide (Harmonium). Open Door Yoga boasts a beautiful view onto Commercial Drive and a peaceful, cozy aesthetic – perfect for baithaks! Please note that this venue is not accessibility friendly as attendees need to take two short flights of stairs to access the room. There is plenty of floor seating along with yoga mats and cushions to keep you comfy. Our limited chair seating will be prioritized for seniors and others who require it. Tickets are by scaled donations with a minimum of $15 – giving you access to the entire evening! Proceeds will go towards our artists and sustaining the organization’s future endeavours. Please register ahead of time via our website as we cannot guarantee space for walk-ins. Final sale price includes the 2.9% + $0.30 fee which Square charges per transaction.
