The International Children’s Festival of the Arts is back in person June 2 – 5!

The largest of its kind in North America, this top-notch, annual kids’ arts and culture extravaganza features diverse main stage acts from across the globe, as well as a whopping number of sight activities, a beloved assortment of roving artists, amusing acts and activities, high-energy Outdoor Stage performances, and loads of free stuff.

This year’s must-sees include:

Blizzard by FLIP Fabrique: Québec circus troupe, FLIP Fabrique, takes you on a crazy, poetic and gentle journey in the dead of winter, and invites you to lose yourself in a moment of complete wonder. With performers at the peak of their art and outstanding visual poetry, Blizzard promises to blow away everything in its path.

Mikey Harris & the Ivan Flett Memorial Dancers: Join TikTok sensation Mikey “DizzyFeet” Harris and his siblings Jacob and Cieanna, together the Ivan Flett Memorial Dancers, for a dazzling dance extravaganza of traditional Métis Red River jigging infused with modern Hip Hop. Their mission is to bring hope, motivation and inspiration to people everywhere, young and old, near and far. Every performance they do is in honour of their biggest supporter, their late grandfather, Ivan Flett. This unique and lively blend of cultures and dance styles will introduce students to aspects of Indigenous culture and have them yearning to learn and jig more!

Jam Side Up by The Kif-Kif Sisters: A charming cocktail of funny theatre, circus, magic, puppetry and typically French craziness. With their freakish acrobatics, twin sisters Françoise and Josette twist and intermingle themselves until the audience is completely confused. They will juggle with umbrellas, make French fries appear at a crazy speed, fight with giant pink monsters and even enter into big balloons. “Kif-Kif” is a French expression that means “fifty/fifty” or “all the same.” Get ready for the Kif-Kif Sisters!

The Silver Starlets Aerial Acrobatic Show: The Silver Starlets is an all-female aerial acrobatic show. Full of glam, glitz and glitter, the Starlets use a 20-foot-high free-standing trapeze rig as their stage. They twist, tumble, bend climb and fall, getting the audience cheering, laughing and sometimes even dancing right along with them.

But don’t let their tutus fool you. The Silver Starlets captivate their audience with family-friendly charm, beautiful grace and amazing strength.

Junie B’s Essential Survival Guide to School: Based on the bestselling books, the saga of the wisecracking first-grader continues in Junie B.’s Essential Survival Guide to School, a goofy and heartwarming follow-up to Junie B. Jones, The Musical that the St. Albert Children’s Theatre produced for the 2018 International Children’s Festival.

A self-appointed expert on all things first grade, Junie B. is determined to write the ultimate guide: Junie B.’s Essential Survival Guide to School. As she deals with writer’s block and constantly getting into trouble, Junie B. quickly realizes that she still has a lot to learn.
