Drawn from the University of Saskatchewan Art Collection, MATERIAL + TIME presents divergent approaches to structural modes, moving away from static moments – the blueprint, the cross-section, the flow chart – towards an understanding of structure as an ongoing process of dissolution.  Considered against the backdrop of social, historical, cultural, and affective entanglements, forms perceived as stable in stasis become malleable in duration.  Architecture crumbles, technology becomes obsolete, and systems deteriorate or fall.  As recipient of the biannual Structurist Prize Award, scholar, curator and filmmakers Marton Orosz will debut a new documentary film on the Hungarian artist, theorist and educator Gyorgy Kepes at Remai Modern in March 2022.  During this time, Orosz will also present his research at a symposium hosted by the University of Saskatchewan.
