The Saskatchewan Prevention Institute is pleased to announce our biennial conference Prevention Matters 2019: Connecting & Collaborating: Learning from One Another for Healthy Child Development and Well-Being.  The conference will be held at TCU Place on October 2nd, 3rd and 4th.  

REGISTRATION ENDS SEPTEMBER 24th.

Keynote topics at the 2019 Prevention Matters conference include:

  • Addressing Vaccine Hesitancy
  • Food Insecurity in Canada
  • Childhood Anxiety: Worried about Worrying
  • Sharing Health Messages in Ways that Make Sense to the Public

Keynote speakers include Saskatchewan experts, as well as national and international speakers.  This biennial, prevention-focused conference brings together professionals working with families and children in a variety of different sectors from throughout Saskatchewan.  This includes Support Workers, Home Visitors, Maternal Child Health Workers, Parent Mentors, Social Workers, Educators, Early Childcare Workers, Mental Health and Addictions Counsellors, Youth Workers, Adult Allies, Nurses, Prenatal Care Providers, and other healthcare professionals.

This year, the conference has both a General and Medical Stream.  The general stream runs for three days and will benefit a number of professionals focusing on the role of prevention in health and knowledge exchange for healthy families and communities.  The medical stream is one-day within Prevention Matters 2019 and aims to address the needs of healthcare professionals, with applicable information, training, and tools to use in their practice.

The Saskatchewan Prevention Institute is a non-profit organization, founded in 1980.  Our focus is to reduce the occurrence of disabling conditions in children.  We raise awareness by providing training, information, and resources based on current best evidence.
