The Maz provides advanced care to the most complex cardiac patients of all ages,
from across Western Canada – thanks to donor support.
Supporting Western Canada’s Leading Heart Institute
Funds raised during Heart Pledge Day have supported such critical needs as:
- Expanding the cardiovascular intensive care unit – where the sickest of the sick cardiac patients receive world leading care;
- Buying portable life support equipment for patients who are so sick they would not arrive at the Maz alive without it; and
- Purchasing a specialized cooling system that protects the brains of heart attack patients by lowering their body temperature.
