4th Annual Mid Island Mushroom Festival

The North Island Wildlife Recovery Centre and the Arrowsmith Naturalists are pleased to present the 4th Annual Mushroom Festival. This fabulous event is on Sunday, October 14 from 11 am to 4pm on NIWRA grounds at 1240 Leffler Road in Errington. This is a fun and educational day with lots to see and do including a huge display of mushrooms, learning about the ecological role of fungi and their uses as food, medicine, dyes, etc. There will be opportunities to talk with knowledgeable people about mushrooms and their identification, there will also be scheduled speakers throughout the day in the Learning Centre. As always, you will find a few local vendors on-site selling wonderful mushroom products, art, and more! AJ’s food truck and Mad Bee Donuts will also be here, so you can grab lunch or snack! Be prepared, this event is always busy … and parking is limited. Shuttle Parking is available and will be provided by the Salvation Army for your ease and convenience from 1500 Grafton Road to NIWRA grounds. As a “thank you” for this service, your monetary contribution to the Salvation Army is appreciated (event admission is separate). We are asking for a donation of $5 per person for event admission (children 12 & under free).
