Welcome Collective ‘Fun’raiser

Introducing Mandy’s Salads new non-profit organization, the Welcome Collective! The Welcome Collective is an organization dedicated to helping asylum seekers in Montreal get settled into their new communities. The organization works by pairing asylum seeking families with “welcome groups”, teams made up of friends, family members, work colleagues, or even a single individual, who then help the newcomer family gather furniture and basic supplies, learn about Canadian culture, help them access social services.

The Mandy’s Salads’ sisters, Rebecca and Mandy Wolfe, realized in early 2017 that many asylum-seeking families were arriving in Montreal with very little possessions, often without so much as basic cold weather clothes and boots to make it through the winter. The very next winter, they decided along with community partners from the YMCA, and the Trottier Family Foundation, and other philanthropic organizations to start the Welcome Collective! To date, the Welcome Collective has helped over 150 families create their new homes in Montreal!

The Welcome Collective’s very first ever ‘Fun’raiser is taking place on October 4th at 7:00 pm, at Mandy’s Old Port location (435 St. Nicolas). This night will be like no other, filled with dancing, incredible food, and touching stories from some new friends from around the globe!
