Do you have a love of playing African rhythms? Have you ever wanted the chance to jam with World renowned African initiated Djembefola and or Dundunfola? Now is your chance! @.LEARN NEW RHYTHMS & TECHNIQUES FROM MASTERS MAINTAIN & IMPROVE THEM WITH LOCAL FACILITATORS@ On September 26- 30th in Victoria and October 1st in Vancouver, you will have an opportunity to enjoy an intensive African Poly-Rhythm Workshop Series involving a selection of percussion instruments, including djembe and dundun. The African Rhythms Collective Workshop Series will involve one – two – three hours of workshops per instrument per day and focus on traditional African rhythms, such as: N’goron, Maané, Tiriba, Yankadi-Makrou or Dundunba ballet style… N’ Goron is a rhythm of the Senufo people who live in Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso. This rhythm was played after the initiation of the girls. While the rhythm is played, the young girls dance with calabashes on their heads. These exclusive workshop series will be led by world-renowned, Master Djembefola, Composer and Artistic Director Amara Kanté. His repertoire of instruments include: Djembe drum, Dunun drums, Talking-drum, Bolon, Krin, Bara and Congas. *** Bring your drum or reserve one in advance. Limited drums and seats per session **Drum rental are available only upon request *******DRUM RENTAL FEE IS $5 *******Krin drums are provided for that workshop only
