VCT Presents Silent Movie Mondays – Piccadilly – March 10, 2025 at the Orpheum

Escape to the roaring 1920s at Silent Movie Mondays, a popular film series presented by Vancouver Civic Theatres! Join us in the stunning historic Orpheum theatre March 10, 2025 at 7:30pm to enjoy Piccadilly (1929) starring the iconic Anna May Wong while a soundtrack is played live on the theatre’s rare Wurlitzer organ – an instrument originally created to accompany silent films and the last in Canada still in its original home. Piccadilly follows a young woman working in the kitchen at a London dance club who is given the chance to become the club’s main act, leading to a plot of betrayal, forbidden love, and murder. Anna May Wong is mesmerizing as Shosho, the dishwasher who overnight becomes the toast of the town. An evening at Silent Movie Mondays also includes a live Jazz Band performance one hour before the show, popcorn & drink specials, and a fun post-show talk from Vancouver Film School’s Keith Blackmore.
