Canada’s Second largest men’s and women’s professional tennis tournament. 2024 marks the 5th edition of the Calgary National Bank Challenger which is taking place October 13 – 20, 2024.
The Challenger features some of the top rising and established stars on the ATP and WTA World Tours in both singles and doubles on four world-class indoor hard surface tennis courts. Past alumni of our event include current Top 10 player and 3x Grand Slam Singles Finalist Casper Ruud, 2012 Wimbledon Singles Finalist Sabine Lisicki and Canadian Tennis Star Vasek Pospisil. Earlier this year, the Challenger won the 2023 Canadian Sport Tourism Award, recognizing Canada’s top national and international events and was ranked Canada’s Best Challenger event by the ATP.
The Challenger event has featured special tennis events such as the Daniel Nestor: Mastering Doubles Clinic with Uros Budimac, Girls.Set.Match. and the Open House Come & Try Tennis Event. Follow along on social media for more information and how you can participate.
To mark our 5th anniversary, the Challenger will raise funds to support new Canadians and under-resourced families to play sport through the Alberta Tennis Centre’s Everyone Can Play Program. A gala event will take place on October 11 & 12 featuring a world-class tennis exhibition, food and beverage, live and silent auction and entertainment. Proceeds from this year’s Gala and Challenger will be directed back into the community to support programming,
