The Tom Keenlyside Sextet presents a tribute to the vast and intricate musical styles of Brazil. Unforgettable melodies, deeply sophisticated harmonies and compelling rhythms are the hallmarks of the Brazilian sound. From the iconic “Girl From Ipanema” to modern-day choro, the music of Brazil is felt from the heart; deep, playful, at times mysterious. Keenlyside has spent time in Sao Paulo and Rio performing with the Brazilian masters, and he brings a stellar band to explore these musical treasures. Tom’s musical career has spanned five decades, featuring performances and recordings throughout North America, Europe and Brazil. He has performed with many of the biggest names in the music business: Diana Krall, Harry Connick Jr., Natalie Cole, Dizzy Gillespie, Mel Torme,Tom Jones and many others, and has been inducted into the B.C. Entertainment Hall of Fame.
