Blue Bomber Glenn January loses his locks … for charity

WINNIPEG — Blue Bomber Glenn January got a new do on Thursday and donated his hair to Evelyn’s Wigs, which supplies wigs to cancer patients.

“I’m excited that I’m giving back to the community,” he said. “It’s something I can do locally and give back to people.”

The football player chopped off his curly brown locks to help women battling cancer.

“Growing up my grandmother actually suffered from breast cancer and I saw the effects of chemotherapy and what effects it can have on a woman,” he said.

Thursday also marked the launch of January’s personal charity, Glenn’s Friends, which aims to help Winnipeg youth in need.

“There’s a lot of opportunity for us to get out there and make a difference,” he said.
