ST. JOHN’S, N.L. – A great white shark that is being tracked by satellite beacon — and can be followed online — has returned to the waters off Newfoundland.

The shark, named Lydia, is now swimming off Cape Race, off the province’s southeast coast.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

Last month, the beacon showed Lydia had made her way into Placentia Bay, as far north as Marasheen Island.

The shark was tagged by American researchers off the coast of Jacksonville, Fla., in March.

Her movements have been tracked ever since.
