There will be no disciplinary action taken against a hockey player who struck a linesman in the face this past Sunday.
The Vernon Vipers were playing the Prince George Spruce Kings when a fight broke out between two players. As a linesman tried to separate two players, a Viper threw a blind punch, missing his opponent and hitting the linesman.
He went down, bleeding from the face.
The B.C. Junior Hockey League says after reviewing the video of the incident, no disciplinary action will be taken against the player as it was a consensual hockey fight, and there were no intent to hit the linesman.
