CHATEAUGUAY – Former Howard S. Billings High School teacher John Drake Johnson was arrested at his home in Châteauguay early Wednesday morning.
The 70-year-old faces five charges including sexual contact with a minor while in a position of authority.
According to Johnson’s accuser, the events allegedly took place between 1987 and 1991 when Johnson was employed as a teacher at the high school.
Constable Rene Beauchemin with the Châteauguay police also confirmed that child pornography was seized at his house.
“Yes, we found juvenile pornography,” he said.
“We discovered this after getting a search warrant for his home because of the accusation.”
Johnson previously worked at Châteauguay Valley Regional School in Ormstown and was involved in the Scouts of Quebec.
He is expected to appear in court on Monday, November 11.
“We are investigating two other pieces of information we received yesterday,” said Beauchemin.
“We got a few phone calls.”
Châteauguay police are still looking for other victims and are encouraging anyone with information to come forward.
