Truck vs. sign north of Moose Jaw, sign loses
MOOSE JAW – A semi-trailer travelling near Moose Jaw picked up an unexpected passenger Thursday morning.
The truck, which was hauling a large oil tank, was headed southbound on Highway #2 just north of Moose Jaw when it struck a large overhead sign.
The sign was pulled from its foundation by the force of the impact, and ended up stuck on top of the oil tank.
The truck continued to drive onto a nearby service road, knocking over two power poles in the process.
Traffic was not impacted by the incident and there were no injuries, but damage is estimated at approximately $125 thousand.
The driver of the truck has been charged with a permit violation for being over height, as well as an ‘hours of service,’ violation for not keeping his log book up to date.
