Important notice to Kirkland voters
Yellow voter reminder cards sent out in early October may have contained erroneous information regarding candidates, districts and polling stations for the Nov. 3 municipal election.
As a result, new blue cards with the correct information were re-issued to all electors as a replacement.
How voting works in Kirkland
Kirkland’s territory is divided into eight electoral districts. Each district is represented by a councillor elected by the voters from that specific district. The mayor is elected by all voters and represents all eight districts.
Meet the candidates in Kirkland’s mayoral race
There are three candidates in the running for the mayor’s job: Michel Gibson, Daniel La Tour and John Meaney.
Kirkland hasn’t had a mayoral race for almost 20 years, as the incumbent mayor hasn’t been challenged since 1995.
