EDMONTON- RCMP are investigating after a man’s body was found at the bottom of an unfinished elevator shaft at a Fort McMurray construction site.
Officers were called to the site in the Timberlea area around 3:50 a.m. Sunday, after a report of a suspicious person in the area.
Police searched the area and say they found the body of a Caucasian male at the bottom of an unfinished elevator shaft. Officers believe the man was in his mid 20s.
A second man was located in the area and detained by police. However, officers do not believe foul play was involved in the man’s death.
Officers are now investigating to determine exactly what happened.
The victim’s name has not been released.
