WINNIPEG — Global News staff were treated to an interesting visitor at the news meeting on Monday morning.

One of the falcons that make downtown Winnipeg home dropped in and had a little breakfast while he visited.

The hunting falcon found a perch outside the window next to the newsroom meeting table.

It wasn’t long before his hunt was successful and the falcon was eating a late breakfast while newsroom staff snapped photos.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

The staff was impressed, but a warning to those who aren’t hardened journalists: The falcon ripped into its meal, which appeared to be a pigeon.
