Surrey high school student followed, grabbed by suspicious male

Surrey RCMP have issued a warning after a teenage boy was followed and grabbed by a suspicious male near a high school Monday.

Mounties say a 14-year-old Clayton Heights Secondary student was walking back to the school after lunch at around 11:45 a.m. when he was approached by a stranger near Extra Foods, located in the 18700-block of Fraser Highway.

According to police, the boy said the male had been following him before grabbing him briefly.

The victim pushed the man away and ran back to school. He was not injured.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male in his late 50s, about 6’1″ tall with a slim build.

He was wearing a black hoodie with the hood up and light blue jeans.

Mounties say there have been no similar cases reported and believe it is an isolated incident, however they are warning the public to report any suspicious activity.
