WATCH: Sneak peek of ‘Glee’ tribute to Cory Monteith

TORONTO — Here is your first look at the emotional tribute to Canadian actor Cory Monteith on next week’s Glee.

In the episode, set to air Oct. 10, the characters of the popular show mourn the loss of Finn Hudson.

Series creator Ryan Murphy told reporters this week the episode was “incredibly difficult to work on” and shoot.

“The episode is called The Quarterback and Cory really was that to that group of people — and to me particularly,” said Murphy.

“He was the most kind, the most generous — never a bad word for anybody.”

Monteith was found dead July 13 in a Vancouver hotel room following a toxic mix of heroin and alcohol.

The teaser for the tribute episode shows tearful students gathering at a memorial for Monteith’s character.

“Those performances that you’ll see, almost everything in that episode is from the first take of every performance,” said Murphy, “because the actors and the crew had a really hard time shooting it.”

In August, Murphy said Monteith’s character does not die from an overdose.

“What we’re doing is we are not telling you yet, or maybe not at all, how that character died,” he explained.

The special episode airs Thursday, Oct. 10 at 9 p.m. on Global.
