TORONTO — Miley Cyrus has got tongues wagging again — this time over a set of explicit pictures snapped by famed photographer Terry Richardson.

The 20-year-old pop star poses topless, seductively clutches a beverage can, smokes a cigar and leaves little to the imagination below the waist.

And, of course, she sticks out her tongue.

The racy images, taken in New York City, were posted Thursday on Richardson’s website.

They are sure to spark more controversy than the sexy shots Cyrus did with photographer Mario Testino earlier this year for V Magazine.

The photos come after Cyrus publicly dismissed words of advice from singer Sinead O’Connor, who urged her not to allow herself to be exploited.

“I am extremely concerned for you that those around you have led you to believe, or encouraged you in your own belief, that it is in any way ‘cool’ to be naked and licking sledgehammers in your videos,” wrote O’Connor in an open letter to Cyrus.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

“The music business doesn’t give a s*** about you, or any of us. They will prostitute you for all you are worth, and cleverly make you think it’s what YOU wanted… and when you end up in rehab as a result of being prostituted, ‘they’ will be sunning themselves on their yachts in Antigua, which they bought by selling your body and you will find yourself very alone.”

O’Connor added: “You are worth more than your body or your sexual appeal.”

Cyrus responded on Twitter by comparing O’Connor to troubled actress Amanda Bynes and then writing: “Sinead. I don’t have time to write you an open letter cause Im hosting & performing on SNL this week.”
