September 2013 was the third wettest in 77 years for Metro Vancouver

This past September was the third wettest in the last 77 years for the Metro Vancouver region.

Meteorologist Kristi Gordon says so far the fall has been really wet, and feels even more so because July was driest on record.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

September was also the second wettest since 2004.

“Usually we get great Septembers,” says Gordon.

Compare this September to last September where Metro Vancouver only received 5 mm of rain – this year we got 144 mm of rain.

While it has been raining for the past few days, the region will be getting a break on Thursday and Friday and we will see some sun.

However, “it’s not looking good for the weekend,” says Gordon.
