Crews were called to the river just before noon yesterday after a man became stranded on a ledge below the hatchery.

He was apparently cliff-diving in the inclement weather and got caught up in the heavy currents.
Dozens of firefighters and rescue volunteers performed a high-angle rescue to pull the man to safety.
Other than the cold, the man was alright.
