One girl dead after motorcycle accident in Surrey

A girl has died and two other teenagers were injured following a serious accident involving a motorcycle in Surrey Wednesday.

The crash occurred at about 11:25 a.m. near Princess Margaret Secondary, near 128 Street and 68th Avenue, and a parent says the school is now on lock-down.

Witnesses say the three teenagers are students at the school and they were crossing the road to get something for lunch. It is unclear if the girls were in a marked crosswalk.

All four people were unconscious when emergency crews arrived. Three are listed in critical condition, and one is in very serious condition. Two people were airlifted to Royal Columbian Hospital.

Witnesses say the motorcycle may have been speeding.

RCMP’s school liaison officers and victim services personnel are also on-site due to the fact the three female pedestrians were students at Princess Margaret Secondary school.
