ISTANBUL, Turkey – Turkey’s deputy prime minister says a Turkish jet has shot down a Syrian military helicopter after it entered Turkish airspace.

Bulent Arinc told reporters in Ankara that the pilots of the helicopter were warned repeatedly on Monday after they had strayed two kilometres into Turkish airspace.
