TORONTO – A church reverend has been arrested and charged following a sexual assault in Scarborough last week.
Police say the incident happened on Sept. 3 when a woman entered All Saints, a Romanain Orthodox Church, in the Birchmount Road and Danforth Road area.
It is alleged the victim, while inside the church, was sexually assaulted by the reverend.
A couple who had entered the church managed to intervene.
Ioan Pop, 54, of Toronto was arrested Wednesday and charged with one count of sexual assault.
Police believe there may be more victims.
