KELOWNA — The jury was being selected Monday for a Kelowna murder trial and Tuesday the panel should begin hearing evidence regarding a woman’s death in April 2010.
That’s when 24-year-old Brittney Lee Irving disappeared after leaving a Kelowna motel room to allegedly sell a large amount of marijuana.
About six weeks later, police found Irving’s body. Not long after, 29-year-old Joey Verma of Kelowna was arrested and charged with first degree murder.
RCMP have not disclosed how iIrving died or where her body was found.
The trial is scheduled to last about seven weeks.
