WINNIPEG – Fans have chosen the names Kovo and Raj for the Assiniboine Park Zoo’s snow leopard cubs.

The names for the snow leopards, born the end of June, were chosen via a vote on the Zoo’s Facebook page that started on Tuesday. There were 780 votes cast.

“It’s wonderful to see that the community is as excited about the cubs as we are,” Gary Lunsford, the general curator and acting director of zoological operations at the zoo, said in a news release. “I can’t think of a better way to name them than with the help of our friends and visitors.
