A Burnaby grandma is planning a shopping spree after she won $3.2 million in August 14’s Lotto 6/49 draw.
66-year-old Annie Ip picked up her cheque today at BC Lottery headquarters and says she plans to go househunting in Burnaby tonight – right after she picks up a new set of wheels.
“My first reaction was awe,” says Ip. “I’m overwhelmed. It’s unreal after you discover you’ve won this much money.”
Ip bought the winning ticket at the lotto booth in Lougheed Mall in Burnaby.
She’s the third B.C. resident to win a major prize from the August 14 draw. Two other winners in Chilliwack and Victoria won $114,000 each.
