TORONTO — The new time-travel series Outlander is coming to Canada next year, Showcase announced Wednesday.

The show, based on the books by Diana Gabaldon, goes into production this fall in Scotland.

Outlander has all the markings of a perfect dramatic series and we’re thrilled to be bringing the phenomenon to Showcase,” said Barbara Williams, Senior Vice President, Content, at Shaw Media. “The series will captivate television audiences as it has done with its series of novels.”
