TORONTO – The recent launch of Toronto Premium Outlets in Halton Hills is the latest attempt by retailers to keep shoppers in southern Ontario.
The shopping centre includes brands such as Hudson’s Bay, Banana Republic, J.Crew, Michael Kors and Ted Baker London. All at discounted prices.
“A lot of people know about the Premium Outlets brand because they go to the United States and shop with us there,” said Toronto Premium Outlets general manager Megan Johnson in an interview with Global News.
But will the new shopping centre on the route from Toronto to Buffalo keep people in Canada? Sean O’Shea crossed the border Friday to compare prices of things you can buy in Canada and in the United States.
While items at both locations were heavily discounted, the biggest savings could be found on one side of the border.
