WINNIPEG — A 19-year-old man is dead after a drunken fight with a family member in a Maples-area home.
Winnipeg police responded to a home on Bondar Bay Saturday afternoon around 1 p.m.
Global News has learned the victim and suspect, both 19, were cousins.
The two were partying at two different locations in the area which were within walking distance from each other.
Police said a fight broke out Friday night at one of the homes. Afterwards, the victim was taken back to his home at 14 Bondar Bay. He was found unresponsive the next day.
The investigation has not been ruled a homicide as of yet, but instead officers are calling it a “sudden death” until the exact cause is determined.
Charges against the suspect are pending a post-mortem examination.
