TORONTO – An Oklahoma woman donating clothing to a local charity was forced to call 911 last week after she gave a little more to charity than she planned — herself.
The woman called Oklahoma City fire department after becoming stuck inside the Positive Tomorrows donation box.
“Um yeah, I am kind of in a particular situation,” she told the 911 operator.
Indeed she was.
“We received a call from a lady that was actually stuck in a donation bin,” Brian Stanaland, Oklahoma City Fire Chief, told local KFOR News Channel.
According to KFOR, the woman dropped off several bags of clothing Saturday evening and when she returned home she realized she was missing a tennis bracelet with sentimental value to her.
She returned early Sunday morning to try to fetch the bracelet from the bin.
“I came down here and was kind of looking around, looking around and I got inside it,” she said to the dispatcher.
The woman was eventually rescued after being trapped inside the bin for close to two hours.
There is no word if the bracelet was located.
