A baby muskox was born last Tuesday—the third calf born at the zoo in the last two years. Staff say both mom, Shyia, and baby are doing well.

The creatures are noted for their thick coats, and strong odor that males emit, which is where their name comes from. Muskox primarily live in the Canadian arctic and Greenland.
With the birth of this new muskox, there are now four at the Calgary Zoo.
The baby still has not been named.
