It’s safe to say a 15-year-old boy is in hot water with his parents after he was clocked doing 175 km/h in their Cadillac.
Police say the boy apparently took the family car — a 2008 Cadillac CTS — for a spin westbound on Highway 1 near Bradner Road in Abbotsford.
He was doing 175 km/h in a 100km/h zone when he was pulled over without incident.
The boy explained to the officer that he wanted to use the vehicle to meet a young girl he recently got to know on a school trip.
Apparently that meeting didn’t go as he hoped.
“Though the young man then had to face his parents and explain why their 2008 Cadillac CTS was being impounded, and why he received $759 in tickets, the alternative could have been much worse” says Cpl. Robert McDonald of Lower Mainland Traffic Services.
The boy was ticketed for excessive speed and not having a driver’s license.
The vehicle was also impounded for seven days.
